December 27 Haiku

Beech

found: rushing water,
woodpecker's distant drilling,
beech leaf shadows

Thanks friends! I didn't even see the bird shallow until Mary Lee pointed it out. I was listening to the woodpecker drumming while on our walk and when taking this photo. Was thinking it was part of the movement & the moment...

Fabulous, Andi. I also didn't see the bird shadow, but what a happy coincidence!

I love that the poem is about "found" instead of "lost," which is what I might more likely expect from a picture of someone disappearing into a wooded area. It's a great framing of the mood.
