July 13 Haiku

On the cusp of five,
discovering new passions;
fresh cantaloupe.

Sounds like the cantelope was a hit! I love that even something like a cantelope can be a new experience- hopefully that sense of wonderment lasts, even if there are some misses along the way (ever try durian?).

The picture reminded me of the phases of the moon.

You're fortunate to have a five-year-old who enjoys food that's healthful. I was a true problem eater as a child. Ah...if only I hated to eat today!

This would be a new passion for me..IF I liked cantelope! But it's a perfect Haiku and pic.

You are so right! I don't like cantaloupe at all myself. Buddy loves every kind of fruit. He recently had some fruit salad with cut up cantaloupe in it and asked me what it was. He has been begging for it every day since. Everyone else in the family is much more hesitant about new fruits... He is teaching me to relish everything fresh in season.
